Who we are
Smart Zone Corp (“Smart Zone”, “we”) runs ordering websites, a counter till, a kitchen board and phone ordering for independent restaurants in the United States. This policy covers web.smartzonecorp.com and the restaurant websites we run. Each restaurant also has its own privacy page, linked at its checkout.
What we collect
For restaurant owners and staff: name, email, phone and sign-in details. For people who order from a restaurant: name, phone number, email if given, delivery address for delivery orders, what was ordered and when, and — only if they say yes — their consent to order texts. For phone orders: the call’s details and, where the restaurant records calls, the recording and a written transcript.
How we use it
Only to take, make and deliver orders, send receipts and the order texts a customer asked for, support the restaurant, keep the service safe, and meet legal duties. We never sell personal information and we run no advertising or tracking scripts.
Text messages (SMS)
We send order texts on behalf of restaurants only to people who opted in — by ticking an unticked box at checkout or by saying yes when asked on a phone order. We keep a record of each yes and each stop. Reply STOP to stop, HELP for help. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. Details: web.smartzonecorp.com/sms.
Who processes data for us
Service providers that run parts of the service for us, under contract and only to run it: hosting (Cloudflare), database (Supabase), card payments (Stripe — card numbers go straight to Stripe and are never stored by us), email (Resend), text messages and phone numbers (Twilio), and the AI phone assistant (Microsoft Azure). They may not use the data for anything else. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party.
Security
Every page is served over HTTPS. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Each restaurant’s data is kept separate by database access rules, staff sign-ins support a second factor, and the Smart Zone console requires one. Secrets such as a restaurant’s own Twilio token are stored encrypted.
How long we keep it
Order records for as long as the restaurant uses Smart Zone, and as tax and accounting rules require. Text consent records (each yes and stop) for 5 years, as proof. When a restaurant leaves, its customers’ personal details are removed on request.
Your choices
To see, correct or delete your information, contact the restaurant you ordered from, or Smart Zone. To stop texts at any time, reply STOP.
