Order texts from restaurants on Smart Zone

Smart Zone runs online ordering websites and phone ordering for independent restaurants. When a customer asks for it, the restaurant sends text messages about that customer's own order — nothing else.

What we send

Hi Sam! Your order 1042 from Northside Pizza is ready for pickup. See you soon. Reply STOP to opt out.

How customers agree

Texts are never required to order. Customers say yes in one of three ways, and each yes is recorded with the exact words, the time and the order.

1. Online, at checkout

A checkbox next to the phone number field. It starts unticked; the customer ticks it only if they want texts. Beside it:

2. On a phone call with the restaurant's AI assistant

Before the order is placed, the assistant asks, word for word:

“Would you like a text from Northside Pizza when your order is ready? It's one or two texts about this order only, and you can reply STOP anytime.”

Only a clear yes counts. The question and the answer are kept with the call.

3. On a phone call with restaurant staff

Staff ask, then tick “They said yes to texts” only if the caller says yes:

“Can Northside Pizza text you when your order is ready? Just one or two texts about this order — reply STOP anytime.”
